Replay overlays and live cameras

Use a private replay browser source to show rolls in OBS without opening the camera in another app. A replay plays once and then clears to transparent. Direct live-camera sharing depends on your camera and operating system. Make sure your camera is set up and calibrated in RollSight first (including the capture area mask and background calibration). How It Works

The RollSight dice tray camera (whether from IPEVO V4K, Dragon Rig, phone, or webcam) appears as a standard video capture device on your computer. Live-camera use has some limits:

  • A compatible streaming app can open an available camera
  • Some cameras and phones require drivers or companion software
  • Appears in your system's device list
  • Opening the same camera in two apps may interrupt RollSight

Camera compatibility varies; a separate camera avoids competing with RollSight for access.

General Setup Steps

  1. For replay overlays, get your private link at /obs and follow the OBS guide
  2. Open your streaming/video software
  3. For live video instead, add a camera/video source only if it can be shared
  4. Select your RollSight dice tray camera from device list
  5. Position and resize in your scene
  6. Confirm both apps still receive video; otherwise use replays or a separate camera

Tips for Streaming

  • Positioning: Keep dice camera visible but not dominant - corner or side panel works well
  • Lighting: Good lighting improves both recognition and stream quality
  • Size: Small but clear - viewers should see dice clearly without it taking over
  • Overlays: Add text overlay like "Physical Dice" to inform viewers
  • Performance: Lower camera resolution if experiencing lag
