D&D 2014
Grapple & Shove
Choose grab, shove, or escape; see the 2014 contested-check sequence.
START WITH THE SITUATION
What are you trying to do?
Grab someone
Replace one attack; do not spend your whole turn.
Target must be within reach, no more than one size larger; you need a free hand.
Use the Attack action and replace one attack with a grapple. Roll Strength (Athletics).
The target chooses Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics). A tie preserves the current situation.
On success, target is grappled: speed 0. Escaping costs the target an action and another contest.
